vol.4: short and sweet
Greetings, adventurers!
Yesterday began the fifth week of isolation, working from home full-time, and also suddenly finding myself a stay-at-home mom to a toddler with daycare being completely shut down. My hope was to get this newsletter out last week, but, well… *gestures at the world*. This newsletter is far shorter than normal, but I’m hoping to be back to full energy and steam in time for May’s newsletter.
As always, this community continues to amaze me. The fact that so many of you still have the creativity, ability, and capacity to create and deliver excellent content to our feeds is just so incredible. And for those that don’t have the capacity to do so right now: That’s okay, too. You’re amazing and your listeners and community will be here for you when you’re ready to come back.
Without further ado, I hope you enjoy this week’s newsletter!

bomBARDed
An Actual Play of Dungeons & Dragons
Strumlotts School of Barding is well-known for producing renowned musicians across the realm, and this newest trio of bards (Randy Greentrees, Yashee Bordun, and Raz’ul son of Daz’ul) may be no different. They call themselves Chaos Sauce, a band of bards-in-training looking to make it in the world, all while fighting with magic their weaponized instruments weave. bomBARDed delivers a musical story of friendship, betrayals, and mystery in only the most comedic of ways. Dice rolls don’t only determine the standard successes and failures of D&D, but the songs themselves. With miniature dives into musical theory in each episode, the cast (an in-real-life band, Lindby) uses dice to help determine the exact structure of the song, giving them song-writing challenges outside of the game and delivering catchy and fun tunes each episode. Dungeon Master Maestro Kyle Claset leads his players, Nick Spurrier, Ali Grant, and Nick Goodrich through story and song, giving them creative tests and trials all while inviting the audience to join in on the fun.
